The reinterpretation of the Madonnina - a golden statuette located on the top of the Duomo of Milano – but using new symbols found in another representation typical of the Mediterranean religious folklore: the “Madonna degli Artigiani” (the artisan’s Virgin). This Madonna holds in her hands a ladder and a hammer. By putting these symbols in the hands of Milan’s Madonnina, Antonio underlines the importance of the artisans and the makers in the design world.
